Thrifty reserves the right to provide a similar vehicle from the same group or category if the vehicle booked is not available.

When renting vehicles from Thrifty, the age limits above apply.

The hirer is not allowed to rent more than one vehicle at the same time. If the hirer has an existing active rental that coincides with a new booking's scheduled pick-up, Thrifty may refuse the new booking.

The hirer must provide the following original, valid documents under the hirer's name:

• UAE Driving Licence
• Emirates ID
• Passport with Residence visa
• Credit card with a minimum validity of the next 3 months for security deposit / tokenisation
• Physical credit card may be required upon car pick-up / delivery for security deposit purposes

The hirer must provide the following original, valid documents under the hirer's name:

• International Driving Permit / GCC driving licence / valid driving licence from country of origin (see exemptions list)
• Passport with entry stamp
• Credit card with a minimum validity of the next 3 months for security deposit
• Physical credit card may be required upon car pick-up / delivery for security deposit purposes

Tourists from all GCC countries and the countries listed below may drive in the UAE with their respective local driving licences.

International or local driving licences in any language other than Arabic or English must be translated into Arabic or English. The translation must be attested by the Embassy.

If a Visit or Tourist visa is changed to a Residence visa, you must obtain a UAE driving licence and submit it together with a copy of your passport (Residence visa page) to Thrifty immediately.

The current Flexy rental includes:

• 40 km mileage
• Fuel
• Standard Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance

• Essential — Simple and budget-friendly city travel
• Comfort — Extra space and comfort for daily trips
• Stretch — Spacious and refined for a premium drive

Blocks of 20 km are priced as per the car category.

Excess mileage beyond the allowed limit will be charged on a per-kilometre basis according to the car category selected.

During booking, you will select a vehicle segment and kilometre (KM) drive plan. The quoted price includes the daily rental, selected KM package, and applicable 5% UAE VAT.

Currently, no modifications are allowed once a booking is made.

Cancellation charges of AED 30 + VAT will apply for any confirmed booking that is cancelled.

Zero refund is applicable in case of a no show.

Currently, no extension is allowed on a confirmed rental.

There will be no refund for unused car rental duration.

If the vehicle is returned more than one hour after the scheduled return time, an additional one day's base rental charge will apply.

A one-way rental fee will apply if the car is picked up from any Thrifty location and dropped off at any Etihad Rail location.

A drop-off charge will apply if the car is picked up from any Etihad Rail station and dropped off at any Thrifty location.

Thrifty provides two options:

With security deposit: Pay the security deposit by placing a block on your credit card or by making a purchase on your debit card. The rental agent will confirm the blocked amount at vehicle pick-up.

No security deposit: Exclusively available for UAE residents on monthly rentals only. A non-refundable one-time 10% surcharge applies based on the total rental amount for the first month only. No-deposit option is restricted to certain car groups. A credit card is mandatory when selecting no-deposit monthly rental.

Effective January 2018, Thrifty Car Rental reserves the right to add value-added tax (VAT) on all services and rates, as confirmed and implemented by the UAE Government. This applies to all bookings for pick-up from 01-Jan-2018.

Thrifty Car Rental reserves the right to change the prices of its products and services.

All prices are payable in UAE Dirhams. Cash and all major credit cards are accepted. Advance payment for the whole rental is required prior to collecting the vehicle from the counter.

For bookings made on the Thrifty UAE website, the credit card used online must be presented at pick-up.

Your card will be securely tokenized to facilitate any applicable post-rental charges related to your booking.

In the event of an accident involving the rented vehicle that results in vehicle damage, the payable insurance excess is based on the result of the police report.

Standard Insurance (IXS) is already included in the basic rental rate.

The hirer is responsible for obtaining the corresponding police report for any vehicle damage. Full repair fees will be charged in the absence of a police report.

Personal belongings or luggage are not insured. Thrifty is not responsible for any personal belongings or luggage left inside the vehicle upon off-hire.

The hirer is required to pay the insurance excess in case of an at-fault police report. The amount varies based on the car category.

"Hit-and-run" refers to accidents wherein the fault cannot be attributed to a third party.

Toll gate crossing (Salik & DARB) is charged at actual price + 25% administration fee + VAT.

Any traffic fine incurred by the hirer is their liability and is charged at actual fine amount + 10% administration fee + VAT.

If the vehicle is impounded, the customer is liable to compensate Thrifty for both the impounding fee and loss of rental.

The hirer is responsible for registering their vehicle for paid parking and for all parking charges relating to the vehicle whilst on hire.

Abu Dhabi traffic department/police charges an additional fee for accident reports, payable by the renter. These charges are over and above the insurance excess charge.

The hirer is prohibited from using the vehicle under the following conditions and activities:

• When the hirer is under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Racing, towing other vehicles, or off-road driving
• Any other activity considered against UAE law

Vehicle insurance does not cover any accident or damage resulting from any of the above scenarios. Any such violation makes the hirer liable to pay for total damages to the vehicle and/or any ancillary damages caused.
